Ok, so some time back in like, june or something -idk it happened near the beginning of summer- my sister's two albino corn snakes bred and had a clutch of 10 eggs. Now, this was a somewhat bad thing since my sister wasn't suppose to have snakes in the first place, let alone one. So naturally, when mom heard about this, she freaked out, and that was when she had enough of my sister's behavior (and pets) and told her to go find some other place to live at or something - look I don't know the specifics of the situation, ok? So she had to find some people who would buy the baby snakes -after they hatched-  and soon some of people close to her, family 'n her boyfriend's brother or something to buy/take the snakes. Now, when school started, most of the snakes had died, so there was only 5 or 6 snakes that survived from hatching because my sister doesn't like slitting the eggs, but one of the ones i wanted named "Jelly bean" survived. and no body picked Jelly bean somehow, so i managed to get Jelly bean!
Now, you might be thinking "how does requests and possible commissions come into the picture?" Well, apparently my sister needs the money, so she charged me $100 for jelly bean. Now I'm willing to do the work for her, but I need a date and quickly because she needs it at the end of the month. So this is another factor on why I want to do commissions, the one that set me questioning if my art is good enough was when one of my new friends asked if i do commissions. I googled on one or two things about doing commissions, but I'm still not sure. But Today, I asked my art teacher if my art was good enough to be commissioned, and he didn't give me a definite answer, but it was the closest i got to a "yes" by his standards, which seem pretty impossible for me since he doesn't like my style (or digital art in general) but he said if people asked me, then I should give it a go.
But I still don't feel like my art is "good 'good'" enough, and I don't exactly know how to go about of the commission stuff.
If anyone has any advice on how to do commissions and whatnot, then please let me know in the comments or in whatever form of talking to me is most comfortable to you.

EDIT: apparently mom wasn't listening fully when i first asked her if i could have the snake and both of my parents said no :c

Your art is better than at least 30% of deviantArt I'd say. However, with commissions, you'll need a decent amount of followers even if you offer them for very cheap. And more importantly, you'll need to present your best work as examples of commissions. Doing a few requests can both bring more people to your gallery and give you the chance to practice your skills.
